The Managing Partner of the firm holds an LLB Degree from Tumaini University and Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice(PGDP) from Law School of Tanzania, a Masters Degree in Law (LLM) in Forced Migration and Refugee Law from University of Dar es Salaam(UDSM), LLM in Corporate and Commercial Relations from University of Bagamonyo (UB) and Certificate in Humanitarian emergency Response from Harvard Humanitarian Academy, Harvard, Advanced Human Rights from University of Pretoria (South Africa), Certificate in Refugee Rights Leadership, University of York.
Erick began his carrier at the then C& M Advocates where he was responsible for the Corporate aspect specifically focusing on Insurance claims and preparation of legal opinions to corporate clients including most of insurance companies including Tanzindia Insurance, Niko Insurance, Reliance Insurance etc.
Erick worked for the international organizations, I- NGOs and Institutions working on refugee and Immigration Matters as an employee and as Legal Consultant.
At Asylum Access Global, Erick worked as a Strategic and Policy Advocacy Coordinator, responsible for Strategic Litigation, meaning planning Strategic Litigations and policy Advocacy at both national, regional and international forums. This provided an opportunity to work with international lawyers working at an international level to address Human Rights and Immigration/Refugee rights abuse. This gave an opportunity to see the big picture on international aspect of strategic Litigation and policy Advocacy working with the relevant players in Migration and refugee issues including UNHCR, IDC and IOM and other I-NGOs.
At CWS/RSC working for the US Government funded Immigration program, As a Program Coordinator Erick lead teams of Lawyers in South Africa, Rwanda and Tanzania who were constantly working with local legal fraternity to address immigration and refugee issues in these Countries. In South Africa, for example Erick worked with Lawyers from LHR and other leading lawyers to address various issues facing immigrants and refugees including Employment matters, Immigration Matters, Addressing labour issues relating Labour Unions and rights to Join Labour unions and General livelihoods for Migrants and Refugees. We had an opportunity to Engage with COSATU and other labour related institutions in South Africa. This as well provided an opportunity to work with various UN Agencies, Embassies, IOM and HR organizations in South Africa, Tanzania and Rwanda.
Erick worked with CWS/RSC as a Tanzania Country Representative where he had an opportunity to work with various international organizations relating to various issues of immigration and Refugee Law.
Erick has worked as a Senior Government officer in The Refugee Service Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs as a Senior Protection Officer, Refugee Services Department, responsible for overall Refugee Protection for the Government of Tanzania.
Erick maintains a clientele of International Organizations and companies and has provided counsel and advise to mostly international Organizations, companies and I-NGOs on range of issues including Immigration Law, Employment and Labour Relations Law, Issues of Compliances, including Registration Compliance, Tax compliance, Company formation, I-NGOs registration and NGO Registration, Real Estate Transactions and Conveyance.
